    Primary Years Programme (PYP)

    A typical Kindergarten day (Age 2 to 6)

    At 9:00 School begins with a prayer.

    The school day is filled with hands-on activities concentrating on reading, writing, listening, speaking and math skills. Each classroom teacher plans her day according to the curriculum of the specific grade level. Teachers are integrating areas of math, science, reading, writing, and social studies through the Units of Inquiry.

    The students have their mid morning snack in the cafeteria with their homeroom teacher and co-homeroom teacher. The school snack menu can always be found on the Schools website. All students attend Physical Education, Art, and Music.

    A typical primary school day (Age 6 to 11)

    At 8:00 School begins with a prayer. Teachers take attendance and students who arrive after the bell are marked tardy.

    At 8:05 Teachers have various tasks assigned to get children settled and ready for the day. Classes officially begin for the day.

    During the course of the day children participate in all of the academic subjects: reading, writing, math, Unit of inquiry. Most days children have a single subject class such as music, physical education, art, dance, tennis and skating.

    Children have a snack time mid morning and Lunch is served at 1.00 pm in the school canteen.

    For children in grades 1-5, school ends at 3 o’clock on all days.
